Gracie is an adorable 18 month old white female American Pit Bull Terrier. This sweetheart was taken into a vet clinic as a stray who had been hit by a car; she was treated by the vet, and then put into a foster home. Unfortunately, her foster parents cannot keep Gracie indefinitely, and are hoping a forever home will come along soon. Gracie is a VERY high energy girl would benefit from an active home with someone who can give her sufficient exercise and training. Gracie's only vices are that she has exhibited some separation anxiety, therefore needing to be crated when home alone, and she can escape from a fenced yard; though no Pit should be left outdoors unattended, Gracie MUST be supervised when outdoors.
Gracie does well in the car, and loves toys, treats, and attention. She adores people, and wants nothing more than to please her people- she is extremely affectionate, and loves to snuggle. She knows "sit", as well as has perfect leash manners (sitting to be leashed, not running out the door when being walked, etc.), being very easy to control in public and on walks, but could use some additional obedience training. Gracie makes no complaints about being handled all over, bathed/groomed, and having items (food, treats, toys) removed from her mouth. She enjoys the company of children, but may be best with older children who will not be easily knocked around by her exuberance- though she still acts like a puppy, she's large enough to accidentally hurt a small child. Gracie would be best in a home without cats, and though she interacts well with other dogs, due to the Pit Bull's tendency for same sex dog aggression, she will not be placed in a home with other female dogs.
Gracie is housebroken and crate trained. She has been spayed, kept current on vaccines, heartworm tested negative and kept current on heartworm prevention, fecal tested, dewormed, and microchipped. There is a $175.00 adoption fee to partially reimburse the organization for the veterinary expenses listed above. Gracie is looking for an INDOOR home, ONLY: we do not adopt to homes that will keep our rescued Pitties outdoors and/or on chains, runners, or in fences, kennels, pens, etc- If you cannot/will not provide an indoor home for our Bullies, or are looking to breed/fight, do NOT contact our organization (or apply for adoption) regarding Gracie or any of our rescued Pit Bulls. Application, adoption fee, home checks, references, and contract are REQUIRED for adoption. To be considered for adoption, please fill out and submit an Application for Adoption BEFORE contacting us directly.
