Dax is an absolutely adorable 3 year old black male American Pit Bull Terrier. This handsome bully boy was found in the woods summer 2007 near death; he was flea infested and starving. He was taken in by a kind family, nursed back to health, and offered a home with them. Unfortunately, their home is not the right home for Dax; the family has a male dog, and due to the same sex dog aggression so common with the APBT, it's not working out with Dax and the male dog (though he loves the two females), so the family feels it's best to find Dax a home with someone else, where there are no male dogs (which is generally best for Bullies). Dax promises a life full of kisses and warm nights in bed if you just offer him a forever home and a life full of pampering and spoiling.

Dax is a sweetheart of a boy who loves everyone he meets, children included, and would make a wonderful addition to most any family. He doesn't have much training, but with his laid back disposition and lovable personality, he'll win your heart despite it! He knows "sit" and "no" but that's about it, Dax loves belly rubs, giving BIG wet kisses to everyone he meets, and rolling around in the grass, showing off his goofy side. He's affectionate, intelligent, and ever-so-loyal. He's made it clear that he enjoys being spoiled, pampered, and loved. Toys, treats,and cuddle time in your lap (and bed) are among his favorite things, though he's grateful for anything given to him. He makes no complaints about being bathed/groomed (although he doesn't really like cold water from the hose), handled all over, or having items removed from his mouth- he's just glad to get the attention. Dax interacts well with other dogs, though due to the Pit Bulls' tendency for same sex dog aggression, he will not be placed in a home with other male dogs. His only vice is that he does get car sick in the car; he enjoys car rides and doesn't get bad sick, but usually vomits just after riding, and then settles in/sleeps, with no further sickness..

Dax is housebroken and crate trained. He has been neutered, vaccinated, fecal tested and dewormed, heartworm tested negative and kept on heartworm prevention, and microchipped. There is a $175.00 adoption fee to partially reimburse the organization for the veterinary expenses listed above. Dax is looking for an INDOOR home, ONLY: we do not adopt to homes that will keep our rescued Pitties outdoors and/or on chains, runners, or in fences, kennels, pens, etc- If you cannot/will not provide an indoor home for our Bullies, or are looking to breed/fight, do NOT contact our organization (or apply for adoption) regarding Dax or any of our rescued Pit Bulls.
