Damian is an absolutely adorable one year old red male American Pit Bull Terrier. This handsome bully boy was originally rescued as a 6 month old pup by his neighbor from an owner who kept him chained. Though his rescuers had hopes of keeping Damian, he's just not a good fit for their home; they have an older dog who has bad hips but loves to play with Damian....and playing has caused more damage to the dog's hips which have required visits to the vet. Since they cannot keep the older dog from playing with Damian, they feel it's best to find Damian a home with dogs he can play with even though they adore him and hate to have to re-home him. Damian hopes someone will come along and see what a great boy he is, and offer him a forever home and a life full of pampering and spoiling!

Damian's favorite pastime activities include long walks, car rides, watching the birds through the window, and rolling around in the grass, showing off his goofy side. He's also quite fond of cuddling, belly rubs, and kisses (giving and receiving). He's affectionate, intelligent, and ever-so-loyal- a smart boy who just wants to please. He's made it clear that he enjoys being spoiled, pampered, and loved. Damian enjoys toys, loves treats, and is beginning his training to be a well-rounded Bully ambassador; he currently knows commands such as "sit", "come", and is learning "stay" along with other commands. He walks well on leash with the assistance of a prong collar, but without one will pull. He makes no complaints about being handled all over or having items removed from his mouth- he's just glad to get the attention. Damian enjoys the company of children, though sometimes gets so excited that he jumps, and is currently working on training not to jump- but he loves kids SO much, it will take some additional work to break this habit. He also interacts well with cats (though does enjoy a good game of chase) and with other dogs, though due to the Pit Bulls' tendency for same sex dog aggression, Damian will not be placed in a home with other male dogs.

Damian is housebroken and crate trained. He has been neutered, vaccinated, fecal tested and dewormed, heartworm tested negative and kept on heartworm prevention, and microchipped. There is a $175.00 adoption fee to partially reimburse the organization for the veterinary expenses listed above. Damian is looking for an INDOOR home, ONLY: we do not adopt to homes that will keep our rescued Pitties outdoors and/or on chains, runners, or in fences, kennels, pens, etc- If you cannot/will not provide an indoor home for our Bullies, or are looking to breed/fight, do NOT contact our organization (or apply for adoption) regarding Damian or any of our rescued Pit Bulls.
