Charlie is an absolutely adorable 3 year old 65lb black male American Pit Bull Terrier. This handsome boy was found wandering the streets of Atlanta when he was one, and was taken in as a foster by the woman who found him. His rescuer placed him in a home months after rescuing him, however, he was recently returned to her after finding that the home was just not the right one for him. Charlie is currently being boarded until a foster or forever home is found; after having been rescued, fostered, adopted, and now boarded, Charlie really needs an environment with stability. Although playful and energetic, he's a calm, mellow boy by nature who would enjoy a laid back home with someone who can offer him plenty of cuddle time.. lounging on the couch watching T.V. Charlie's only vice is that, due to him being bounced around so much, he does have some slight separation anxiety, for which is is on medication (reconcile) for. This is something that he should be able to be weaned off once he's in a stable environment after 3-6 months, but shouldn't be stopped immediately so that he is allowed a chance to adjust.

Charlie will be an easy companion and addition to a new family; he graduated obedience training and knows commands such as "sit", "down", "stay", "wait", "come", "leave it", and "heel" (walking politely on leash), as well as others. He has great manners, and leaves very little work for a new family- he'd make a wonderful companion for someone with little/no Pit experience, looking to adopt for the first time. Charlie does well in the car (he gets nervous and drools, but he loves car rides), and loves toys and treats, of any kind. He adores people, and wants nothing more than to please- he also wants to be with his person, and will do anything it takes to be with his person, even if it means jumping a fence (for example, if he were in a fence in the backyard and his person were in the front yard); for this reason, he always needs to be supervised when outdoors. He is an affectionate baby who loves to cuddle and kiss, and would do best with a family/parent who doesn't mind BIG kisses frequently. Charlie has done well with cats (although he does NOT like cats that are mean to him [ie, hissing, swatting] and will growl at those behaviors, but will ignore cats who don't mind him), and most other dogs, though he has typical Bully traits and can often be picky with companions; he will not back down if challenged, but does not seek out fights with other dogs- due to the Pit Bull's tendency to be same sex dog aggressive, he will not be placed into a home with other male dogs.

Charlie is housebroken, and is crate trained. He has been neutered, kept current on vaccines, heartworm tested negative, kept current on heartworm prevention, fecal tested, dewormed, and microchipped. There is a $175.00 adoption fee to partially reimburse the organization for the veterinary expenses listed above. Charlie is looking for an INDOOR home, ONLY: we do not adopt to homes that will keep our rescued Pitties outdoors and/or on chains, runners, or in fences, kennels, pens, etc- If you cannot/will not provide an indoor home for our Bullies, or are looking to breed/fight, do NOT contact our organization (or apply for adoption) regarding Charlie or any of our rescued Pit Bulls. Application, adoption fee, home checks, references, and contract are REQUIRED for adoption. Charlie is ready for a loving, forever home of his own- please open your heart and home to this precious bully boy and give him the home he dreams of. Please fill out and submit an Application for Adoption BEFORE contacting us directly.
