Bonita is an adorable little 4 year old 50lb blue female American Pit Bull Terrier. This sweetheart is a resident of an Atlanta shelter, and is awaiting a permanent home of her own. The shelter staff adore Bonita, and want her to find a great home quickly, although she is not in danger of being euthanized at the shelter. Bonita's only vice is that she has allergies, to most everything- literally (pine, cigarette smoke, dust, etc. are just a few known); she has to be on a particular food to ensure she does not have vomiting episodes, so her new family will need to understand her allergy issues and be willing, and prepared, to handle the financial obligation that may come with any allergic reactions she may have to unknown allergens in the future- but, we promise, she is WELL worth it all! She has an appointment for further testing soon, so we should be able to update further allergens to reduce the chances of allergic reactions in the future.
Bonita loves the company of people, children included, and is a well behaved little Bully. She does well in the car, and loves toys, treats, and attention. She adores people, and wants nothing more than to please her people- she is extremely affectionate, and very eagar to please. Bonita walks well on leash, and is a quick learner. She could benefit from some training, but would be a relatively easy addition for a home without Pit experience. She makes no complaints about being bathed/groomed/handled all over or having items removed from her mouth. She interacts well with other dogs, though due to the Pit Bulls' tendencies for same sex dog aggression, she will not be placed in a home with other female dogs.
Bonita is housebroken and crate trained She has been spayed, kept current on vaccines, heartworm tested negative, kept current on heartworm prevention, fecal tested, dewormed, and microchipped. There is a $175.00 adoption fee to partially reimburse the organization for the veterinary expenses listed above. Bonita is looking for an INDOOR home, ONLY: we do not adopt to homes that will keep our rescued Pitties outdoors and/or on chains, runners, or in fences, kennels, pens, etc- If you cannot/will not provide an indoor home for our Bullies, or are looking to breed/fight, do NOT contact our organization (or apply for adoption) regarding Bonita or any of our rescued Pit Bulls. Application, adoption fee, home checks, references, and contract are REQUIRED for adoption. To be considered for adoption, please fill out and submit an Application for Adoption BEFORE contacting us directly.
