Bishop is an absolutely adorable 4 1/2 year old brindle male American Pit Bull Terrier. This luv-a-bull bully boy has lived with his owner since he was 6 weeks old, but now his people are having a baby, and his owners feel they do not have the space or time to offer him after all his years of loyalty. Despite the fact that he's done nothing wrong, his people need to find another home for Bishop before June/July 2008, when their baby is due, so Bishop is on borrowed time.

Bishop is an active and playful boy who enjoys car rides and walks/runs. He's well trained, leaving little for a new owner to have to work on; he knows commands such as "sit", ""down", "come", "shake", "stay", etc. and is also trained to stay out of kitchen and/or smooth surface areas. He responds to 'upstairs/downstairs, and is also trained to go to his crate. He favors the good, pampering, spoiled life and hopes to find a home with someone who won't mind his very loud (but typical of the breed) snoring :) Bishop enjoys toys, loves treats, and human attention, including that from children. He makes no complaints about being handled all over or having items removed from his mouth- he's just glad to get the attention. He is, however, sometimes afraid of the vacuum cleaner- that's his only vice. Bishop interacts well with most other dogs, though due to the Pit Bulls' tendency for same sex dog aggression, he will not be placed in a home with other male dogs.

Bishop has been neutered, vaccinated, fecal tested and dewormed, heartworm tested negative and kept on heartworm prevention, and microchipped. There is a $175.00 adoption fee to partially reimburse the organization for the veterinary expenses listed above. Bishop is looking for an INDOOR home, ONLY: we do not adopt to homes that will keep our rescued Pitties outdoors and/or on chains, runners, or in fences, kennels, pens, etc- If you cannot/will not provide an indoor home for our Bullies, or are looking to breed/fight, do NOT contact our organization (or apply for adoption) regarding Bishop or any of our rescued Pit Bulls. Application, adoption fee, home checks, references, and contract are REQUIRED for adoption.
