Pit Prints Pit Bull Rescue/Rehabilitation is located in north metro Atlanta , in Cherokee County (about 30 minutes north of Atlanta ). We are a Non-Profit 501(c)(3) Shelter licensed with the Georgia Department of Agriculture that specializes in the rescue and rehabilitation of the "Bully Breeds", such as APBT (American Pit Bull Terrier), American Staffordshire Terrier, Staffordshire Bull Terrier, and Bull Terrier, as well as the Rottweiler, Presa Canario, Neapolitan Mastiff, Cane Corso and Tosa-Inu.

Pit Prints Pit Bull Rescue/Rehabilitation was established to rescue and rehabilitate unwanted and physically and/or mentally injured "Pit Bulls" (for clarification, the Pit Bull is NOT a breed of dog, but a term that characterizes several breeds of dog: The American Pit Bull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier, Bull Terrier, Staffordshire Bull Terrier, and the American Bulldog), and other breeds that are misunderstood by society including the Rottweiler, Presa Canario, Neapolitan Mastiff, Cane Corso, and Tosa Inu. These breeds are truly unique and for this reason were chosen because of the reputation that has been acquired or is expected to be acquired due to the negligence on behalf of breeders irresponsibly placing these dogs with unknowledgeable and irresponsible owners. This in turn results with owners who fail to provide the required socialization and training that is required according to the specific needs that each individual breed requires.

These breeds are sometimes feared by the general public because of the negative attention they receive from the media. For clarification, our organization does not tolerate human aggression, under any circumstances, regardless of breed. All of the dogs that enter our rescue undergo strict training and socialization, and MUST pass a thorough temperament test BEFORE being placed for adoption.. The goals of Pit Prints Pit Bull Rescue/Rehabilitation are to rescue, rehabilitate, and place these loyal dogs into knowledgeable, loving homes for the remainder of their lives. This will be done by means of having potential adoptive families fill out an adoption application, provide personal and veterinary references, pay an adoption fee to cover veterinary expenses, sign an approved adoption contract and be susceptible to a lifetime of announced and unannounced home checks to ensure that the well being of the animal is being considered. It is essential to educate the potential adopters of the breed they are interested in and make sure that the individual breed and dog will fit the new family and their lifestyle
.

Each dog that is brought into Pit Prints Pit Bull Rescue/Rehabilitation is brought current on all vaccines, heartworm tested and placed on prevention or treated as needed, fecal tested and de-wormed, spayed or neutered, micro-chipped, and socialized according the specific requirements of the individual breed. Surgeries and other procedures will be performed as needed for the dogs. Because of this, donations are greatly welcomed and appreciated by both volunteers and animals of Pit Prints Pit Bull Rescue/Rehabilitation. All donations are tax deductible and a receipt will be provided upon request. Pit Prints Pit Bull Rescue/Rehabilitation is always looking for potential adoptive families as well as potential foster families. Please feel free to inquire about either if you or someone you know might be interested in helping us save more lives. It will remain a goal of Pit Prints Pit Bull Rescue/Rehabilitation to restore the reputations of these breeds, educate the public and potential adoptive families, and reduce the numbers of unwanted, euthanized animals.
